Post 20, Day 26 -- NaBloPoMo
My sister was telling me about misdirecting a couple of texts today, one right after the other. They were both to family members or friends, just not the right ones! And that reminded me of one I had sent to the wrong person recently.
Earlier in the summer we started having trouble getting good, clean hearing screens in one particular room in the hospital. Probably one out of every three times I screened in this room, I had a difficult screen, and my newest screener kept having a lot of electrical interference on every screen, making it take a lot longer. She started (jokingly) saying she was cursed or the room was cursed and dreaded if she had a baby in that room when she was screening. They were doing some working in the hospital, and I think that had something to do with it. But it became a running joke.
When this screener had her baby in October, the first thing my other screener and I both asked nursing when she was moved to a private room from the labor room was, "She isn't in 18, is she?!" For each of us the nurse asked, "What's wrong with 18?"
They actually put her in 17, so we had to laugh at that because she said that on the way down the hall as she got closer and closer to 18, she said she was getting ready throw a fit if they put her in 18.
While she was on maternity leave, we didn't have any trouble in 18 at all -- the renovation work in the hospital ended as well. So one day, after weeks of good screens in 18, I texted my screener on maternity and said, "Hey, S___, The curse has been lifted in Room 18. The babies are passing."
I got a reply in a couple of minutes that said, "You texted the wrong person. I'm not S_____. But I'm glad to hear it!"
I really wonder they thought I had meant by that message.
And for your enjoyment, my son-in-law asking his co-worker where the garage door opener is so he can get to his work truck:
Yes, that guys is a bit pitiful, isn't he?
Later gators!

I'm always scared that I'll mis-text something personal. Yikes!
